Peggy Burnett Hawkins, 89, quietly passed away on May 17, 2018 at her recent home, The Crossings at Harbor View. Peggy was born and educated in Danville, Virginia, graduating from George Washington High School in 1947. She was married to R. Franklin Hawkins, Jr of Richmond on May 16, 1953. (65th Anniversary May 16, 2018)

Peggy attended Madison College (Now JMU) where she was a member of Sigma Phi Lambda and received an Associate’s Degree in Business in 1949. She then worked as a Secretary for Dan River Mills in Danville until Marriage.

Lucas Nathaniel Harris, 2, passed away on May 10, 2018 in Suffolk, VA. 

Lucas will be forever remembered by his parents, Amy and Matthew Harris, his big brother Samuel, his Nana Bernie, his papa Michael and Michelle, his uncles Marc and Kris, his aunts Ronni, Evieey and Marissa, and his cousins Cameron, Kalie and Kristopher. Lucas will also be remembered by his numerous aunts, uncles and extended family. 

At this time, the family is asking for privacy as they grieve and heal together.

Eleanor Evans

Eleanor Evans, 78, of Suffolk passed away at home May15, 2018. She was known to many as “Douggie” and was a graduate of Meredith College and for some years was a home Economist for Vepco. Eleanor was a founding member of Friends of the Suffolk Library where she volunteered for many years.
