Wynter C. Shotton, 49, passed away on May 13, 2020.  She was born in Suffolk, Virginia to Douglas Shotton and the late Frances Shotton.  

Wynter will be greatly missed by her family, friends, and all those she touched.  Her deep faith, manifested in her love of all God’s creatures, will live in the hearts and memories of all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Elliott Robertson Horton, 95, better known as Duck, went home to be with the Lord on May 11, 2020. Born on June 13, 1924 in Whaleyville, VA, he was the youngest of seven children of the late Walter Henry Horton and Hattie Louise Gomer. After the passing of his mother when he was 5, his stepmother, Pattie Horton played an important role in his young life. His beloved wife of 53 years, Mary Ida Brinkley and beloved second wife, Dorothy Lowe predeceased him.

Jane Audrey Weigle, 84, of Spring Grove, Virginia passed away on Saturday, May 16, 2020. She was a registered nurse having served in the medical field for many years. She was preceded in death by her parents, Otis and Christine Bailey and her husband of 61 years, Guy Orlando Weigle “Smoky”.

Left to cherish her memory is her daughter, Cecile Hawkins (Carl); sons, Nathan Weigle (Robbin), Monte Weigle (Sharon), Eric Weigle (Tina), and David Weigle (Sandy); nine grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; brother, David Bailey, and sister, Nancy Monroe.

Carlos Edward Walker, 73, a long-time resident of Moyock, went to be with the Lord his Savior on May 5, 2020. He was preceded in death by his loving wife Carolyn Faye Walker and his sisters Melody Ann Kearny-Eason and Daphne Walker-Burkholder. He served in the United States Marine Corp and was awarded the Purple Heart. He was as a past Commander in the American Legion Currituck Post 531.

June E. Hibbard Nurney of Smithfield, Virginia passed away on Saturday, May 9, 2020. She was 90 years old. She was the daughter of the late Cloisen and Helen Cook. She was predeceased in death by her son Roy E. Hibbard (Chipper).

She survived by two sons Carlton A. Hibbard and Naven E. Hibbard; four daughters Margreta Fatcheric, Helen V. Arbogast, Linda S. Hearn and Trina L. Hibbard; 13 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
