Ramelle T. Simmons 77 went to be with the Lord June 16 2007. Born in Albemarle N.C. she was the daughter to Winfred and Mary Troutman.

She is survived by her loving husband of sixty years Rev. Dr. Bill Simmons; daughter Sara Ann Werden of Maineville OH; two sons R. Joe Simmons and wife Janet of Suffolk and Jackie Simmons and wife Mary of Moyock NC; and seven grandchildren.

Nimville Lynn Whedbee Jr. 75 died Friday June 15 2007 from a heart attack while driving his vehicle.

Born in Suffolk Virginia he was the son of the late Beulah L. and Nimville Lynn Whedbee Sr. He is preceded in death by his parents; brother George B. Whedbee Sr.; children Wanda Kay Whedbee and Steve Lynn Whedbee. Mr. Whedbee was a member of the Merchant Marines and the Local Iron Workers Union.

Survivors include his sister Elizabeth W. Baker; brothers Jimmie Leigh Whedbee Aubrey R. Whedbee Sr. John W. Whedbee Sr.; grandchildren; and good friend Margaret Suits.

Newman Taylor Milteer 76 son of the late Jethro T. and Mary T. Milteer passed away June 14 2007 after a long illness. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by a sister and brother Nancy J. Mann and J. Thomas Milteer Jr.

Mr. Milteer was retired from Astor Nut Company and was a member of Holy Neck Christian Church and the Men's Bible Class. He served in the United States Marine Corps for two years during the Korean Conflict.

Born February 14 1916 in Taylor Ridge IL she was the daughter of the late Frank and Anna Crompton. Ethel was a member of Colona United Methodist Church. She was the widow of Russell D. Kershaw. They were married from June 21 1941 until his death in April 14 2000. She was retired from Eagle Food Centers and had previously worked at the Airport Inn Moline and the Toasty Shop in Rock Island.
