Wilbur Andrews Wright, Sr. went to be with the Lord on January 6, 2018. He is predeceased by his parents Michael and Annie Sue Wright, Sr., Brother M. Phillip Wright, Jr., sister Ann Wright Piland, son Michael Thomas Wright, and grandsons Adam and Chad Wright.

          Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 57 years Carolyn Carter Wright of Suffolk, son Andy Wright (Kim) of Suffolk, daughter Linda Duke (John) of Suffolk, and grandson Erik Wright of Suffolk.

          Wilbur was a retired Farmer and worked at Brandon House. He served in the Virginia National Guard. He was a member of First Baptist Church and loved fishing, working with computers and fixing things with his free time. Wilbur had a technological and engineering mind.   

          A funeral service will be held Tuesday January 9, 2018 2 PM at R.W. Baker & Co. Funeral Home and Crematory 509 W. Washington Street with Dr. Thurman R. Hayes, Jr. and Rev. David Edgell officiating. A Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Burial will be held at Holly Lawn Cemetery 1525 N. Main St. Suffolk, VA 23434. Memorial donations may be made to the First Baptist Building Fund. Condolences may be offered at RWBakerFH.com.

I was so very sorry to learn of Wilbur's passing. He was a great man who was well thought of by so many in our community. His dedication to his family, his work, and to God were certainly examples for everyone to follow.
