Shirley Lee “Mac” McGary passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 26, 2019. Born February 11, 1933 in Kentucky, he was a son of the late Lafayette Shirley McGary and Ella Margaret Atherton McGary. This was near and dear to his heart as he was an active supporter for over 10 years. This is a respite program for parents of special needs children. Mac and his wife, Beverly, enjoyed many trips together and he loved and cherished them all. They enjoyed trips to the Greenbriar River Trail in West Virginia, through the Shenandoah Valley, or on the New River Trails in Southwest Virginia. Their fondest trip was a camping and pack trip through the Teton Range in Wyoming. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Kenneth McGary, and a sister, Geraldine Hayden.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Beverly Kaye McGary; daughters, Lana Larsen and her husband, Tom, Colleen Perry and her husband, Thom, Margaret Brandtner and her husband, Brian, and Amy Morgan and her husband, Jay; son, Steven McGary and his wife, Lolita; grandchildren, Anais McCrickert and her husband, Brian, Nichole Kitchens and her husband, Ronald, Brooke Powell and her husband, Griffin, Madison Mau and her husband, Nathan, Alexis Brandtner, Tasha Smith, Sarah Morgan, Zachary Morgan, Alexandra Morgan, Levi Morgan, and Joy Morgan; great-grandchildren, Anders McCrickert, Ethan McCrickert, Jackson Morgan, Jace Morgan, and Hatcher Powell; nieces, Sandy Hayden, Sherri Mattingly, and Nikki Lutz, and special family friend, Reggie Thompson.
