Sara Alice Heuberger, age 85, of Overland Park, Kansas, passed away at her home on April 13, 2019. She was born on May 14, 1933, in Centralia, Illinois, the daughter of Joel Paul and Margaret Allen. Sara earned her undergraduate degree in Home Economics from Iowa State University and a Master’s Degree from the University of Illinois-Champaign.

Sara married Glen Heuberger in 1958. She was a devoted wife, mother, and home maker. The sound of birds, the color of flowers, and the laughter of her grandchildren filled her heart with joy. Additionally, she was an avid reader, volunteer, and active church member.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Richard Boston And Glen Heuberger, her parents, and her brother, Lloyd Allen. She is survived by her children, Steven Heuberger, Eric (Margaret) Heuberger, and Linda (Stephen)Dunning; her grandchildren, Ashely and Heather Heuberger, and Ryan and Sean Dunning; a brother, David Allen and his wife Nancy; and her sister-in-law, Sherill Allen.

A celebration of live service will be held on Saturday, December 7, 2019 at 1 PM by Rev. Michael D. Halley in Suffolk Christian Church, 216 N. Main Street, Suffolk VA 23434.

Sorry to hear of Sara's passing. I worked with her at The Pruden Center where she was a teaching assistant give help to so many students. She was such a wonderful soul.

I am so sorry for Sara’s loss. She and I were members of a local club when she lived in Suffolk. I always enjoyed talking with her and have fond memories of her. I will be keeping all her loved ones in my thoughts.
