My name is David Joyner. I think we are related. First let me offer my sincere condolences at your loss. I saw the obit today in the Virginian Pilot. My father was Thomas Nelms Joyner, son of Richard H Joyner of Suffolk. As a child I remember visiting his Aunt Effie in her home on Washington St. near the funeral home. My father passed away in 1980. The family farm was where the Nansemond-Suffolk Academy stands today. I realize that if my puzzle pieces all fit we are not closely related but the obit brought about some strong memories for me. I am Thomas' youngest son and will be 62 next month. I have an older brother who is 67 named Gary. Our sister Carolyn died at 44. I tell you all of this to see if any of it rings any bells with you. If it does I would like to hear from you to freshen my memories. You can contact me at my email: whatsopera@yahoo.com. Thank you and again my sincere condolences at your loss.

David R Joyner

Bobby and Liz,
I was keeping tabs on your Daddy and was sadden to hear he had passed. So sorry we could not attend the funeral. Our thoughts and prayers are with you both. Love to you guys!
