Peggy J. Luter passed away on January 2, 2019. She is the daughter of the late J.C. and Burda Slavin. Peggy is the widow of Melvin T. Carroll and John Wayne Luter. She is predeceased by two sisters, Dorothy Beale and Sandra Taylor.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Pam Thomas of Windsor, VA and Roxanna Copley (Mike) of Ohio; grandchildren, Brandy Lanier (Aaron) of Ohio and Daniel Copley (Juliana) of Virginia; great grandchildren, Tynley and Grant Lanier; nephews, Bobby and Tommy Beale; and a niece, Ann Aukes.

Mrs. Luter was a member of West End Baptist Church.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 8, 2019 at 1 PM at West End Baptist Church 105 St. James Ave. Suffolk with Rev. T. Floyd Irby, Jr. and Dr. J. Robert Pipkin officiating. Visitation will be held Monday, January 7, 2019 from 6:30 to 8 PM at R.W. Baker & Co. Funeral Home and Crematory, 509 W. Washington St. Suffolk. Burial will be held Tuesday before the service at 12 noon at Albert G. Horton Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery, the public is invited to attend. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to West End Baptist Church. Condolences may be offered at
