Patricia Carraway Branch, 79, of Waverly, Virginia departed this life on November 12, 2020.  Born February 27, 1941 in Farmville, NC. She was the daughter of the late Charles H. Carraway and Ruth Ellen Heath Carraway. She was the widow of Jerrold Wayne Branch, Sr. 

Pat worked as a professional seamstress working on costumes for Colonial Williamsburg, she loved to cook and baking cakes for birthdays, weddings and other occasions. She also worked at Eastover Baptist Retreat serving as the Director of Food Service and House Keeping until her health declined. She dedicated her life to caring for John Wayne and their families.

She is survived by her companion of 25 years John Wayne Bryant, Jr.; a son, Jerrold Wayne Branch (Alesha); daughters, Jan Marie Branch, Rebecca Bryant Wheeler (Mark), and Tiffany Marie Bryant-Clements (Robert); and numerous grandchildren.  

A memorial service will be held at R.W. Baker & Co. Funeral Home and Crematory, Wakefield Chapel by Rev. Ted Upton on Thursday, November 19, 2020 at 2PM.  In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Waverly Volunteer Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 583 Waverly, VA 23890. John Wayne and family: so sorry to learn of Pat’s passing. I pray God gives you strength to support each other. I was married to Mike so Pat and I were sister in laws. I never got to see her but just a few times but she was always a sweet lady. Stay strong.
