Nancy Sue Barnhill Cordero, 75, went home to be with her Lord on June 22, 2020. She was the daughter of the late William and Ruth Barnhill, Jr.  Nancy was a born again Christian and was an active member for many years at Victory Baptist in Elizabeth City, NC.

She loved her family very much especially her granddaughters and great grandchildren who knew her as Meme. She poured her life into caring for them and always putting their needs before her own.

Many happy memories were made at her home at the River.  Everyone was welcomed and there was always a house filled with laughter and joy with her family and friends.

She is survived by her daughter Teresa S. Rose and husband Lloyd; son Christopher T. Cordero; granddaughters Kelsey Saffell and husband Jeremiah, Enjolie Cordero and Kirsten Cordero; great grandchildren Micah and Hailey Saffell; sisters Mary Font and husband Dan and Vivian Beene and husband Ricky.

At a later date a graveside memorial service will be conducted at West Lawn Cemetery in Elizabeth City, NC. Baker-Foster Funeral Home, Suffolk VA is serving.

My husband was pastor at Tabernacle Baptist Church and led Nancy to the Lord in the late 1960’s. She was a joy to know, a great blessing in our church and loved the Lord. We served in Brazil as missionaries for 44 years and eventually lost contact with her. Our condolences to Teresa and Chris. We shall see her again!!
