Mary Louetta Stallings

Suffolk, VA
09.15.1945 - 12.29.2018
Birthplace
Pulaski, VA

The morning of December 29, 2018, Mary Louetta “Lou” Stallings, 73, went to be with the Lord at her home in Suffolk, VA, after battling cancer for several years.

Lou was born on September 15, 1945, to the late Ambers Calvin Blevins and Helen Virginia Dean Blevins.  She was predeceased by two brothers Richard Blevins and Jackie Blevins and sisters Virginia Stout, Jean Sturdivant, and Nettie Sutphin.  She was survived by her children Lisa Porter, Andrew and Jamie Sultz, and Joseph Hobbs; granddaughter Elyse Porter; brother Charles Ray Blevins; and sister Mildred Wright; and many nieces and nephews.

She raised her children in the Nansemond Shores area of Suffolk.  When she married her late husband, Paul W. Stallings, on February 14, 1984, they moved out to a quiet farm that she loved dearly.  After Paul’s passing in 2003, Lou lived out the remainder of life on the farm with her family.  She was best known for her love for God, overwhelming generosity, compassionate nature, and charming and sassy sense of humor, which will be greatly missed by all that knew her.

As requested by Lou, rather than holding a traditional funeral service, the family is holding visiting hours between 3-7:00 p.m. on Friday, January 4, 2019.  Please contact Lisa Porter, Andrew or Jamie Sultz, or Elyse Porter for details.  The family plans to hold the burial at a later date at Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens, where she will be placed next her late husband.

R.W. Baker & Co Funeral Home and Crematory, 509 W. Washington St., Suffolk is serving the family.  Condolences may be registered at RWBakerFH.com.
