Marilyn Kay Bracey, 72, went to be with the Lord on October 3, 2018 surrounded by her three sons. She was the daughter of the late Geraldine H. Lankford and James Herbert Wade. She was predeceased by her husband William Steele Bracey; son O. Thomas Deziel and her brothers Buxton H. Wade and William James Wade.

Kay was a member of Uzzell United Methodist Church where she served as the treasurer for many years, she was also active with various committees while running the kitchen and being a proud member of the choir. She was the manager of Clydesdale Mobile Home Community. She was the owner and operator of Wade Upholstery and Refinishing.

She is survived by her sons William Nelson Bracey and wife Elizabeth of Carrollton, Stephen Clyde Bracey of Smithfield and Fred L. Deziel of Hertford NC; daughter in law Tracy Deziel; eleven Grandchildren, many great grandchildren and a brother Benjamin H. Wade.

A funeral service will be conducted on Saturday, October 6, 2018 at 11 AM in Uzzell United Methodist Church by Rev. Becky Gwaltney, with burial following in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the home of Nelson and Elizabeth Bracey on Friday, October 5, 2018 from 6 to 8 PM. The family wishes expressions of sympathy be made in donations to Uzzell UMC, 15363 Uzzell Church Road, Smithfield, VA 23430. R.W. Baker & Co. Funeral Home and Crematory, 509 W. My thoughts and prayers are with Fred, Nelson, Clyde and their families. I enjoyed working with Kay at Clyde's Dale. I will always remember her as a hardworking lady who loved the Lord, her children, and their families. She will be missed.
