Lawrence Hartwell Chambers of Waverly passed away peacefully Saturday, January 6, 2018. Born October 25, 1948, he was a son of the late Harold Lane Chambers, Sr. and Lillie Mae Cornett Chambers. Lawrence enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, whether it was boating, playing cards, cooking a stew, cutting the block or just riding the go cart. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Marsha Ann Chambers; and his brothers, Harold Lane Chambers, Jr. and Clarence Edward Chambers, Jr.

Left to cherish his memory is his daughter, Wendy Chambers Jones and her husband, Jason; his son, Michael Wayne Chambers; his grandson, Jaron Jones; his sister, Joyce Chambers Wells and her husband, Guy, and numerous nieces and nephews.  

The family will receive friends at R.W. Baker & Co. Funeral Home, Wakefield Chapel Wednesday, January 10, 2018 from 2:00 to 3:00 pm. A funeral service will be held at 3:00 pm, Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at the funeral home with Rev. Charles Willman officiating. Burial will follow at Waverly Cemetery. The family requests that casual attire be worn for the services.
