My dear love, I miss you so,
I wish you didn't have to go.
But our Lord has called you home,
No more this earthly place to roam.
No more birthday or anniversary,
No more cuddles while watching TV,
Gone the kisses and holding hands,
Taking vacations or making plans,
No joking and laughing or teasing me,
Hilarious antics no more I see.
No more laundry or cooking for two,
Oh my sweet love, I am missing you!
Your twinkling eyes and winning smile,
That Texas drawl and cowboy style
Have left a gnawing gripping ache,
That makes my soul quiver and quake.
A catastrophic explosion in my mind,
Your passing left me emotionally deaf, mute and blind.
I can barely function from day to day.
I still cannot comprehend that you are gone away.
I'm a glued together shattered vase,
A wound that time cannot erase.
I know that God will heal this sore.
When we meet in heaven for evermore.
I love you, Ed!
