Donald Ray Peck, Sr. of Wakefield, VA passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 7, 2018. He was a retired Chief with the Wakefield Volunteer Fire Department where he served for over 20 years. Mr. Peck was a devoted member of Wakefield United Methodist Church where he served on the Board of Trustees. He was also a faithful member of the Wakefield Ruritan Club. Mr. Peck was preceded in death by his parents, George Wesley Peck and Hattie Mae Bulls Peck; a grandson, Brandon James Peddicord, and his brothers, Lee Peck, Jimmy Peck and Harvey Peck.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 60 years, Elizabeth Harrell Peck "Peggy"; children, Donald Ray Peck, Jr. and wife, Monica, Dana Leigh Peck How and husband, Alfred, David Keith Peck and wife, Paula, and Derek Sean Peck and wife, Patricia; grandchildren, Joshua Edwards and wife, Carolyn, Robert Ray Peck, Robert Burton Gay, Jr. and wife, Ashley, Tyler Rives Peck, Hunter Wesley Peck, Cameron Elijah How, Tristan Michael How, Josslyn Saylor Suhr, and Ellis Rae Peck; great-grandchildren, Corey Edwards, Jeslynn Rae Peck, and Peyton Reid Gay; sisters, Ruby Johnson, and Hattie Norine Verlander, and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, April 10, 2018 at R.W. Baker & Co. Funeral Home, Wakefield Chapel from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, April 11, 2018 at 2:00 pm in Wakefield United Methodist Church with Rev. Glenn Riggs officiating. Burial will follow in Wakefield Cemetery.
