Betty and I love Dane and Doris Winningham. When word came to us that he had transferred to Heaven my immediate thoughts went back to the wonderful days when I served as his pastor.......Dane was a Christ follower who lived out of what was in his heart. He was kind, gracious, loyal and faithful. He was a team player and my heart was always warmed by his sweet attitude. I am grateful that the dear Lord allowed us to cross paths and experience some life together. We WILL meet again......

I wish I could be there with you all to go down memory lane of all the lovely moments we all have shared with Uncle Dane. I will always be forever grateful to him & Aunt Doris for taking me into their home & loving me as one of their own. I was given an opportunity to be with my favorite cousin growing up that I looked up to "Gizzard" & Uncle Dane tried to help get me on the right path. He was a character, but most important he was a loving man & he loved his family & friends. You will be greatly miss. Tell PawPaw Sam hi for me. Love you! Love you my family & holding you all in my heart & thoughts! ❤

Dane and I often worked together at the Dismal Swamp Refuge, and we fought many forest fires as a team. I will always remember him as a kind and big-hearted man who never hesitated to lend a helping hand or offer advice when needed. His stories about growing up and working in Arkansas were always entertaining. My sympathies go out to Doris and family during this difficult time. .
