Connie Irene Truitt, 66, of Suffolk, VA passed away on January 9, 2019 peacefully at her home surrounded by loved ones. She was born February 1, 1952 to the late Louis and Ivy Truitt. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Kenneth Thomas and Wayne Truitt, her son-in-law, Alan Polson and her nephew Kevin Truitt.

Connie loved spending time with her kids and grandkids. Her family was her life. Those left to cherish her memory are the love of her life, Delmar “Buck” Spivey, daughters, Teresa Gardner (Lorain), Debi Brooks (Rickey) of Suffolk and Beth Polson (Lee Joyner) of Aulander, NC; brother Al Truitt (Rita) of Suffolk; grandchildren, Kristina Stancil (Jonathan), Meagan Barnes, Brittany Brooks, Kelsi Polson, Shayne Brooks, Kierstyn Polson and Brandyn Polson; her beloved dog Molly and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be conducted on Saturday January 12, 2019 at 3pm. in the R.W. Baker & Co. Funeral Home and Crematory 509 W. Washington St. Suffolk, VA by Chaplain Curtis Davis. Burial will be private at Newman Memorial Cemetery in Chuckatuck, VA.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to charity of your choice, American Cancer Society or Heartland Home Health and Hospice. We would like to thank all her caregivers with Heartland Home Health and Hospice for their exceptional care of our mom. We would like to extend a special thank you to her aide, Shaunta Ruffin. So sorry girls to hear about your mom. I know there must be some comfort in knowing she’s not suffering anymore with that awful cancer.
