The death of a loved one is the most devastating experiences a family can face. At times, the loss may seem unbearable. Please know that there are those who care about you and your family during this difficult time and more importantly Psalm 34:18 tells us that "God is near to those that are broken at heart. Jehovah is the God of all comfort. My prayers are with you and your family.

Grandpa - we are praying for you as you go through the period of mourning over Grandma's passing. She was an inspiration to us as a grandmother and person, and we are hoping we can make it to 66 years of marriage and 88 years of life! May this verse comfort you in your pain - Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; 26 and whoever lives by believing in me will never die." (John 11:25-26). Love from Matt & Lily!

Dear Grandpa Bob
Please accept our deepest condolences! For our prayers are with you and your family during this difficult time with the loss of your love one. Grandma Carol leaves behind a lovely and wonderful family who support and comfort one another.
For our Father in heaven says in Isaiah 25:8. “He will swallow up death forever. The sovereign Lord will wipe away the tears from all faces; he will remove the disgrace of his people from all the earth. The Lord has spoken."

those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.

Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance.

Prayers from our group with Matt and Lily. I pray the Lord give you comfort, strength, and peace at this time.

"The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in Him, and He helps me.
My heart leaps for joy, and with my song I will praise Him." Psalm 28:7

"Peace I leave you with, my peace I give unto you; not as the world giveth, give i unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid." John 14:27

Gina Alves (Matt's small group)

My deepest condolences for you and your family. I hope you can find some solace in the Peace Prayer that is commonly attributed to St. Francis:

"Lord, make me an instrument of your peace
Where there is hatred, let me sow love
Where there is injury, pardon
Where there is discord, union
Where there is doubt, faith
Where there is despair, hope
Where there is darkness, light
And where there is sadness, joy.

O Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek
To be consoled, as to console
To be understood, as to understand
To be loved, as to love.
For it is in giving that we receive,
It is in pardoning that we are pardoned,
And it is in dying that we are born to eternal life."

Much love to you and I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.

Our deepest condolences Grandpa Bob. We are inspired by your 66 years of marriage and hope this verse might be an encouragement to you:
Psalm 73:26
My flesh and my heart may fail,
but God is the strength of my heart
and my portion forever

Jamie and Caroline Sturm (Matt's friends from Beijing)
