Barbara Nycum Moore, of Surry, passed away peacefully Thursday, February 22, 2018. Born in Wilkinsburg, PA, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Kathryn Lloyd Nycum. She was a 1946 graduate of the College of William and Mary; faithful member of Carsley UMC; a member of the John Rolfe Branch, APVA; a member of the Frances Bland Randolph Chapter, NSDAR; and a member of the Surry Garden Club. Along with her parents, Barbara is preceded in death by her husband, Allison Gilbert Moore.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Patricia M. Correll, Kathryn M. Goode and husband, Howard, and Nancy M. Cummins and husband, James; a son, Allison N. “Nick” Moore and wife, Pat; grandchildren, Eric Murdoch, Kristen Constantineau and husband, Rob, Allison Correll and husband, Andrew Blascovich, Brandon Moore and wife, Sarah, Melissa Moore, Caroline Cummins, and Dirick Cummins; great-grandchildren, Maggie Murdoch, Luke Constantineau, Anna Constantineau, Charlotte Moore, Lincoln Moore, and Lucinda Murdoch.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm, Sunday, March 4, 2018 at Carsley UMC, 5609 Carsley Rd., Waverly, VA 23890 with Rev. Ray Rowland officiating. The family will receive friends following the service in the church fellowship hall. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to either Carsley UMC, c/o Letha Hite, 2943 Huntington Rd., Spring Grove, VA 23881, Surry Volunteer Rescue Squad, P.O.
