Dean M. Carter

Dean Mitchell Carter died October 24, 2018 in Oldsmar, Florida. 

He was the son of Zola R. Carter and John Henry Carter. He was predeceased by a daughter, Kelly Carter Comeau, a sister, Mildred Carter Jordan, and a brother, Glen R. Carter.

Mr. Carter was a graduate of Virginia Polytechnic Institute with a degree in Agronomy and an officers commission as Lieutenant in the U.S. Army. He spent 32 years of his working life as division agronomist, then Senior Purchasing Manager with Planters Peanuts Division of Kraft Foods.

William G. “Bill”  Nix, 92, went to be with the Lord on November 8, 2018. He was the son of the late Iva Louise Gay and Robert Gaines Nix.

Bill earned and Electrical Engineering degree in 1955 from the University of Colorado, and a Doctorate of Religion in 1971 from the School of Theology at Claremont in California.

Angelia Frazier Garrett, 82, a resident of Smithfield, passed away Tuesday, November 6, 2018. Born October 15, 1936 in Asheboro, NC, she was a daughter of the late Dennis and Mattie Hines Frazier. She was a graduate of Richard J. Reynolds High School in Winston Salem, NC and retired from Wesley Community Service Center in Portsmouth, VA. Angelia was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Smithfield and was very active with the United Methodist Women’s Assembly. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Dulan H. Garrett.
