Nancy Jay Milteer Mann 85 died January 5 2007 at Nansemond Pointe.
Born April 27 1921 in Nansemond County VA she was the daughter of the late Jethro Thomas and Mary Taylor Milteer and sister of the late Thomas Milteer. Mrs. Mann was retired from Suffolk Gas Company as bookkeeper. She was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church.
Jean Anderson Mulford 84 died December 27 2006 " at Sentara Obici Hospital.
Born February 1" 1922 in Edgecomb County NC she was the daughter of the late Hampton and Tina Pittman Anderson. Mrs. Mulford retired from the Virginian Pilot in 1977 as a secretary. She was a member of Bethlehem Christian Church and was a former member of the Suffolk Garden Club and the King's Fork Woman's Club.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Kem J. and Danny Martin of Suffolk; several nieces and nephews.
June Paige Murphy was born in Ivor VA on June 9 on her father's birthday in 1919. She attended public school in Suffolk graduating from Suffolk High School on both a business and college prep track. June graduated from Elon College in 1942. During WWII she taught school in Norfolk. After the war she moved with her husband JJW Looney to Rocky Mount NC where they lived until 1968. In Rocky Mount June became Guidance Counselor at RM Wilson Junior High School when her daughters Carolyn and Charlotte reached school age.
Winston Raymond Johnson 79 died December 18 2006 " at Sentara Obici Hospital.
Born November 5" 1927 in Suffolk VA he was the son of the late Joseph H. and Annie Mae Jenkins Johnson. Mr. Johnson was a member of the Windsor Baptist Church " the Windsor Volunteer Fire Department and the Windsor Ruritan Club. He was a WW II Army veteran and was retired from Newport News Ship Building as a sheet metal specialist.
Robert Webb Nelms Jr. 72 died at Sentara Leigh Memorial Hospital December 16 2006. Born January 20 1934 in Suffolk he was the son of the late Erma Pritchard Nelms and Robert Webb Nelms " Sr. and the widower Betty Jean Lineberry.
Survivors include his two sons Robert William Nelms and wife Diane of Orange County" CA and Jeffrey Lineberry Nelms and wife Annette or Portsmouth VA; grandchildren Andrea Ashlynne Amanda Jeffrey " and Carly Jean.
Jon Dawson 96 passed away in Chesapeake. A much loved father grandfather and friend " Jon was well known in the area. A veteran of Hollywood" New York and traveling theatre Jon came to Virginia Beach in 1950 with Theatre Go Round. As director at the Norfolk Little Theatre through the 50's and 60's Stage Door Theatre and Cavalier Dinner Theatre through the 70's Jon brought theatre to Tidewater. As an early staffer at WTAR TV " Jon hosted television and radio shows before retiring from the station as its program director.
Eloise Bradshaw Worrell 83 died at her home December 13 " 2006. Born June 22" 1923 in Suffolk she was the daughter of the late Milton Lee and Beulah Johnson Bradshaw. Mrs. Worrell was a member of Suffolk Christian Church " where she formerly enjoyed being in charge of the Beginners Class and formerly served as a Cub Scout Leader of Den 3 Pack 2 at Oxford United Methodist Church. She had retired from the City of Suffolk Purchasing Office.

He is survived by his three daughters Ida Simmons Mary Darden Hearring and Martha Simmons; his three grandchildren Miranda Darden Meredith Darden Kelly Brad Rose; and great-granddaughter " Kinsley Rose. During World War II" " he enlisted in the U. S. Army at age 17 and volunteered for the Army Air Corps. He flew 35 missions and was shot down three times in the South Pacific while a tail-gunner on B-24s.

Born February 13 1921 in Nansemond County she was the daughter of the late Eleanor Winslow and Johnnie Lee Gray. She was predeceased by two children Linda Faye Cary and Michael Gray Cary sister Hulda Gray Holland and brother Harry Lee Gray. Survivors include John Neal Cary Sr. her husband of 60 years Charles W. Cary II Bill and wife Carol CoCo John Neal Cary Jr.
Helen Lynch DuBois 72 died November 27 2006 at Sentara Obici Hospital.
Born January 3 1934 in Maryland she was the daughter of the late Norman and Catherine Stewart Lynch of Baraboo WI. Mrs. DuBois was a volunteer at Sentara Obici Hospital. She was a past president of the United Ostomy Association and was very involved in the Bethlehem Ruritan Club and the Eastern Star.
Eugene Donald Schnall 'Dad The Poet Lauriat of Suffolk VA'? 80 died November 23 2006 at his residence. Born October 4 1926 in New York New York he was the son of the late Ray Gassman and Barney Schnall. He was preceded in death by his son Douglas Schnall.
Mr. Schnall was a veteran of World War II worked as a traveling salesman and owned his own Textile Industry Business.
Katherleene Deborah Duke Rountree 91 died November 22 2006 at Lake Prince Woods. She was born on December 21 1914 in Nansemond County to the late James Philip Duke and Martha Deborah Howell Duke. She was preceded in death by her husband Willie H. Rountree and four sisters Jamie Parker Nellie Horton Helen Duke and Eloise Pearce.
Frank Wilson Womack Jr. 79 died Sunday November 19 at Lake Prince Woods. He was born on June 29 1927 in Suffolk VA to the late Frank Wilson and Ella May Price Womack. He was preceded in death by his sister Betsy Hines.
He lived and worked in Suffolk VA with the Highway Department and Health Department and later with the U.S. Postal Service. He live in Columbia SC Tampa Fl Montera CA Greensboro NC and on High Rock Lake NC prior to his retirement in 1989 as District Manager of Postal Real Estate in Greensboro NC.
