Born in Virginia. He was the son to Lucy and William B. Phelps. He leaves behind his wife of 55 years, Patricia A. Phelps.

 

Mr. Phelps retired as a General Manager for Beach Ford and then went to work for Cavalier Ford to socialize (and sometimes work would happen).

Jasper David Hall, 73, went to be with the Lord on November 4, 2017 surrounded by his family. He was the son of the late Jasper Hall and Louise Wilson Hall. Jasper served in the US Navy.

Jasper loved to spend time with his family and enjoyed swinging in his swing to help pass the time. He was able to invent things to do just to spend more time in the outdoors. He was a hardworking man with a good heart. “His family was his life.”

Born July 19, 1936 in Southampton County, she was the daughter of the late Lonnie Judson Pond and Ella Mae Rollings Pond. Josephine worked as a bookkeeper for Southern States in Wakefield and Cowling Brothers in Waverly. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Chapple Stephenson, Sr.; her brothers, Hudson Pond, Judson Pond, Homer “Jack” Pond and Harold “Jill” Pond and her sister, Elizabeth Goodrich.

He retired from the Virginia Department of Transportation in Suffolk after 36 years as a mechanic. He was a faithful member of Tucker Swamp Baptist Church.

Wayne was a member of Harvest Baptist Church in Hickory, NC. He enjoyed shooting, fishing, spending time with his family and friends, and playing cards with his sister Connie.
