Alma Sadler Mountcastle 99 died November 1 2006 at Sentara Obici Hospital.

Born October 23 1907 in Tyrrell County NC she was the daughter of the late Edward Columbus and Emma Armstrong Sadler and widow of Arthur Montague Mountcastle Sr. She was preceded in death by her brothers Aubrey E. Sadler Alvah E. Sadler Alison E. Sadler and sister Antha Sadler Cobb. Mrs. Mountcastle was a member of Main Street United Methodist Church the Suffolk Art League and Women in Construction. She was formerly a bookkeeper with Reid & Hope.

Born May 30 1931 in Mount Airy NC he was the son of the late Robert Roosevelt and Gracie Johnson Heath. Mr. Heath was a member of the Suffolk Moose Lodge and a retired foundry employee.

Daniel Preston Harrell 80 died February 25 " 2006.

Born December 14" 1926 in Nansemond County VA he was the son of the late Roscoe and Manie Horton Harrell.

Mr. Harrell retired from Planters as a machine operator and was a farmer for many years. He was a member of Liberty Spring Christian Church where he had served as chairman of the Board of Deacons and on the Board of Trustees.

Survivors include his wife Helen Claud Harrell and several cousins.

Thomas J. “TJ” Brinkley, 88, the son of the late Bennie Aaron and Earlie Byrum Brinkley passed away on Saturday March 4, 2017.

TJ was a member of Bethlehem Christian Church, a deacon twice and treasurer in the early years of the Church. He was also a member of the men’s choir, and was affiliated with Allen Hardware, TJ was also the manager of Suffolk Marina. He served his country in the Korean Conflict and was a member of the American Legion Post # 0141.

"Lil", as she is called by family and friends, was born in San Diego CA, and called the west coast her home for most of her life. George and Lil came to Virginia in 2006 to live near their son in Windsor, and eventually moved to Lake Prince Woods in Suffolk in December of 2013.

Terry Stephen "Tom" Steele, 69, peacefully passed on to glory February 10, 2016 in his Suffolk, VA home, losing his battle with cancer. Born in Lewistown, PA, he was a survivor, a tough ol' cowboy who grabbed life by the horns, got up when he fell down and never gave up. He was a successful businessman and was able to travel the world acting as a trading liaison between foreign manufacturers and domestic buyers. An avid yachtsman, horseman, hunter and angler he was quite the stoic character of dignity, class, and humor.
