Glenn Ray Dickens passed away Friday, January 19, 2018 on his job in Lynchburg, Virginia. He was born November 2, 1959 in Petersburg, Virginia, and was raised in Chesterfield County until he was grown. Most of his adult life he lived in the Lynchburg area where he was a perfectionist in the dry wall industry. He was preceded in death by his father, Harry Dickens; his brother, Sam Dickens; and his step-father, Richard Poe.

Leslie Arthur Bass, Jr. of Wakefield passed away unexpectedly on January 15, 2018. Leslie lived in Wakefield his whole life; he was the son of the late Leslie Arthur Bass, Sr. and Martha Anne Teall. Leslie was known to be a very hard worker and a great friend to all he knew. He loved spending time outdoors riding his tractor or target practicing, as he was an avid marksman. Spending time with his family meant the most to him, especially his grandchildren.

She was born in Cumberland Gap, TN and graduated from Carson-Newman College in 1949. She was a high school English teacher for approximately 30 years having retired from Jefferson County High School. She was preceded in death by her husband Rev. Henry Davidson after 59 years of marriage. She was the daughter of the late Gertrude and Joe Collins. She was also preceded in death by brothers Jack Long, Robert Long and sister Edith Dalzell.

She grew up and lived in Goldsboro, NC and has always been active in the communities she lived in, whether it was a church activity or one of her many positions she held with the Boy Scouts. Roma was passionate about life. She enjoyed riding horses and spending time with her family on the Carolina beaches.

Elmer J. Boyce “EJ”, 87, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on December 29, 2017. He was predeceased by his parent Elmer James Boyce Sr. and Doris Boyce; both of his “Girls” Linda Hodge and Debbie Peterson; and granddaughter Stephanie Peterson. 

EJ was an US Air Force Veteran serving from 1951 to 1955, and after his service he worked for the VA ABC Store until his retirement. After retiring he enjoyed spending his time with his numerous grandkids and volunteering at GA Treakle Elementary School.
