Charles Lewis Marshall, Sr., 81, passed away on October 21, 2017 at his residence in Suffolk surrounded by his loving family. He was predeceased by his parents, WB and Goldie Marshall, who owned Riverside Dairy in Churchland; and six brothers.

He retired as Senior Master Sergeant with the United States Air Force, then retired as a Regional Vice-President of Gordon Jewelry.

His survivors include his loving wife of 61 years, Valerie J. Marshall; daughter, Deborah M. Clay of Suffolk; sons, Charles L Marshall Jr. and wife, Theresa, of Smithfield, G. Scott Marshall, Sr. and wife, Juanita, of Windsor; sister, May Winters and husband, Bill, of Wilson, NC; four grandchildren, Jason, Scotty, Jesse, Jonny; nine great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 26, 2017 in Baker-Foster Funeral Home, 5685 Lee Farm Lane, Suffolk, at 12:00pm by Pastor Ryan Brice. Burial will follow at Albert G. Horton Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery. The family will receive friends in the funeral home on Wednesday, October 25, 2017 from 6:00-8:00pm. Condolences may be registered online at RWBakerFH.com.
