Carl Lukers of Suffolk Va passed away Saturday morning in his home. Born September 14, 1947, he was the son of late Leon Carl Lukers and Julia Bray Lukers. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend who will be missed by all who knew him.

Carl enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He especially enjoyed getting together for dinner, fishing, going to the movies, walks by the ocean, looking at the stars through his telescope, trips to the casino, and watching his Auburn Tigers and New Orleans Saints play football.

Margaret Christeen Magee Laine, 96, longtime resident of Wakefield, VA, departed this life August 10, 2017 and entered eternal rest surrounded by her heavenly field of blue forget-me-nots. She was the ninth of ten children born to the late Richard Daniel Magee and Alice Rebecca Morris Magee. Fred Allen Wright of Waverly passed away Monday, August 7, 2017 at his home surrounded by his family. Born July 15, 1940, he was a son of the late Fred Hoffman Wright and Delphia M. Perry Wright. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend who will be missed by all who knew him. Fred served his country in the U.S. Navy. After retirement from the U.S. Navy, he worked as a machinist for Metro Machine Shipyard and the Virginia Department of Transportation. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Anita Johnson.

He is survived by one brother Anthony Daman, and numerous nieces and nephews.

She produced and directed a local production of “Hee Haw” that was a fund raiser for Ivor Rescue Squad for fifteen years.

She was a very rambunctious and spunky little girl with many talents, with an eye for music and an talent for art, she had the voice of an angel. She loved to dance, play the guitar and the violin. She was an uprising sophomore at Kings Fork High School.

She was a supportive wife to her husband during his 30 year naval career.

Born September 12, 1967, he was a son of Madge Valerie Coleman Bennett and the late James Clinton Bennett, Sr. He was a loving and devoted son, husband, brother, father and friend who will be missed by all who knew him. David served in the U.S. Navy including tours in the Persian Gulf and Iraq, retiring in 2006. After retiring from the U.S. Navy, David worked for the Virginia Department of Transportation as a Shift Coordinator at the Jamestown-Scotland Ferry.
