Memories Card

Memory cards can be something simple or very detailed. Usually, they are filled out by friends and family sharing a thought, story or words of sympathy. When you plan a funeral with us, we offer each attendee an opportunity to write a special written memory or thought of the dearly departed. We collect these cards and present them to you at the conclusion of the service.

Memorial Candle

A memorial candle adds a quiet and peaceful way to celebrate a person’s life and to say goodbye. They can come in a variety of shapes and sizes, with or without pictures. Some even have etchings. At R.W. Baker we can arrange a special pillar candle and light it during visitation or the funeral service in a predominant place. This candle is yours to keep after the service.

The Dove Release

The dove is a symbol of eternal peace and the human soul.

A dove release is a lovely ceremony honoring your loved one. There are many variations of this service from releasing a single dove at the conclusion of a funeral service or even releasing a whole flock. This highly symbolic ceremony is beautiful and very moving.

The R.W. Baker Funeral Home can help arrange an elegant dove release to suit your family’s needs.

Cremation Jewelry

Cremation jewelry has become increasingly popular. There are an endless variety of custom pieces and designs, but what they all have in common is they are made to hold a small amount of your loved one’s cremains. In this way, you can keep part of them close to you.

Beads Made From Sympathy Flowers

Funeral beads are truly a lovely and unique keepsake. Typically done by a specialized artist, flowers from the funeral service are taken and prepared into a paste that is shaped into beads. They can then be used to make special items such as jewelry or even rosaries.

Planting a Memorial Tree

With environmental health in the forefront of many people’s minds, a memorial tree is a wonderful, eco-friendly way to celebrate and remember the life of a loved one. A tree can be planted and marked with a special placard, and there are even some places that will mix cremains into a plantable cremation pod. The National Arbor Day Foundation has a wonderful program for memorial trees.
