Baker & Company Funeral Home and Crematory has been family owned by the Bakers since 1885.  In a time where many funeral homes have sold out to the international conglomerates and are trying to rebuild themselves,  we proudly have remained own and operated by the descendants of Robert Washington Baker. We are now in our fifth generation of family operation.

With a combined experience of 90 years among our funeral directors, we have learned to listen and suggest, and are able to organize and conduct all types of ceremonies that will be comforting and meaningful. Our staff will do whatever it takes to serve your family properly. This effort begins from the time we receive the death call to properly placing the flowers on a grave following the service.

We offer convenience to you, your family, and friends as the only funeral home in Suffolk with two locations –- R.W. Baker in the downtown area and Baker-Foster Funeral Home in north Suffolk. We are licensed in Virginia and North Carolina and have worked with many cemeteries in the Hampton Roads and North Carolina communities.
