Viola Crumpler Annas
Viola Crumpler (Billie) Annas passed away Thursday, January 26, 2012 at the age of 78. She was the daughter of the late Janice and William Mahone Crumpler, Jr. She was a devoted mother and grandmother. Billie was an active member of the Alter Guilds of All Saints Episcopal Church in Virginia Beach and St Paul’s Episcopal Church in Suffolk. She was an associate member of the Nansemond River Garden Club. Billie was formally a volunteer at Louise Obici Memorial Hospital. She attended Sullins College and the College of William and Mary.
She is survived by her husband Jack Annas, children Janice A. Sandoval and husband Larry of Crown Point, Indiana, Emily Lin Annas Linzy and husband Craig Thomas Linzy of Suffolk, VA and Jay Annas and wife Stephanie of Suffolk, VA; grandchildren Joshua Annas, Katie Annas, Betsy Carr, Viola Jacklin Williamson, Brittani Faye McLeskey and Peyton Adison Linzy; great grandchild Gavin Carr; and cousins Margaret Dashiell, Jane Grant Carpenter.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, January 31, 2012 by the Rev. Keith Emerson at Cedar Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday, January 30, 2012 from 7:00 -8:30 PM in the R. W. Baker & Co Funeral Home and Crematory, 509 West Washington Street, Suffolk, VA 23434. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the ALS Association/Lou Gehrig’s Disease – DC/MD/VA Chapter, Hampton Roads Neurology at the Riverside Medical Office Bldg., 12200 Warwick Blvd., Suite 110, Newport News, VA 23601 or to a charity of your choice.
