Melvin Lee Roberson, Sr., 80, passed away January 11, 2012.
Born in Bertie County, NC, he was the son of the late Sally and James H. Roberson. He was formally a sergeant with the Suffolk Police Department, and retired as a manager for Sentry Mart. Mr. Roberson was also a veteran of the United States Army serving during the Korean conflict. He was a member of Suffolk Pentecostal Holiness Church.
He is survived by his loving wife, Anna Wilson Roberson; son, Melvin L. Roberson, Jr. of Winton, NC; two grandchildren; sister, Katie Brennen of Clinton, IL.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday, January 13, 2012 at 11:00 am in the Suffolk Pentecostal Holiness Church, 100 Kilby Shores Drive, Suffolk by the Rev. Don Milner. Burial will follow at Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends in the R. W. Baker & Co. Funeral Home, 509 W. Washington St., Suffolk on Thursday, January 12, 2012 from 7:00 to 8:00 pm. Condolences may be registered at www.rwbakerfh.com.

I am so sorry to hear of Mr. Roberson's death. He was such a good man and a wonderful person to work for. He taught me alot way back in the day and he always had a special place in my heart. Anna ~ my heart breaks for you knowing how much you loved one another. May you find peace in the all the wonderful memories you made together.
