Josephine Ligon Grigg passed away Thursday, January 12, 2012 at the age of 88.
She was the daughter of the late Joseph and Frances Ligon. She was preceded in death by her husband Marion Grigg, Jr., and daughter Kathryn Grigg Johnson. She was a member of Suffolk Presbyterian Church for over 50 years where she served as a Deacon, an Elder, President of Presbyterian Women of the Church and Sunday School Teacher. She was retired from Johnson’s Gardens.
She is survived by her son Marion L. Grigg and wife Diane, son William A. Grigg; daughter Lynn G. Johnson and husband Thomas; grandchildren Aaron Johnson, Jason Grigg, Parris Grieder , Brent Johnson and Alyssa Grigg; great-granddaughter Brittany Johnson and great-great grandson Cayden Bobbitt.
A funeral service will be held Monday, January 16, 2012 at 11:00 AM at Suffolk Presbyterian Church, 410 N. Broad Street, Suffolk, VA 23434 by Rev. Alan Johnson and Rev. Rebecca P. Lesley. The committal service will be conducted at 3 PM in the Emporia Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday, January 15, 2012 from 2-4 PM in the R. W. Baker & Co Funeral Home and Crematory, 509 West Washington Street, Suffolk, VA 23434 and other times at the home of Marion Grigg. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Suffolk Presbyterian Church. Condolences may be made at www.rwbakerfh.com.
