Robert Beale (since 2009)
Mr. Beale was born in Suffolk and is a 1967 graduate of John Yeates High School where he enjoyed playing football, basketball and baseball. He is married to Faye Blevins and they have two children. Bobby is an active member of Westminster Presbyterian Church. He enjoys helping his wife at their peanut shop in downtown Suffolk and also enjoys golfing and reading.
Carolyn Brothers (since 1993)
Mrs. Brothers is a 1956 graduate of Sunbury High School. She is married to Charles H. Brothers, Sr. They have one son and one grandson. Carolyn has been a member of Whaleyville United Methodist Church since 1962. She has been the organist and choir director since 1972.
Forrest Cathy (since 1990)
Mr. Cathy is a 1943 graduate of Suffolk High School and a 1950 graduate of VPI. He served over two years in the Navy. Forrest married Mary Jane Brooks of Abington, VA on Thanksgiving day 1950. They have three daughters and five grandchildren . Forrest has been a member of Suffolk Christian Church since 1970. He retired from Norfolk Coca-Cola Bottling Works in 1980. Forrest enjoys fishing and playing bridge.
Bill Eason (since 2003)
Mr. Eason was born in Suffolk and is a 1952 graduate of Suffolk High School where he played football, baseball, and ran track. He enlisted in the Air Force in 1952, and served four years in the Korean Conflict and was discharged in 1956 as a Staff Sergeant. He is married to Anne Benton and they have four children, eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Bill retired from Birdsong Peanut Co. after 26 years. Bill has been a member of First Baptist Church since 1945. He enjoys playing golf and riding his motorcycle.

Larry Evans (since 2010 )
Mr. Evans was born in Edenton, N.C. and moved to VA in 1963. He graduated in 1966 from John Yeates High School. He served in U.S. Air Force for four years. He married Marilyn Jones in 1975 and they had three daughters. They also have six grandchildren. Larry has been a member of Wilroy Baptist Church for 45 years serving as a Sunday school teacher and deacon. He is a member of the Fraternal Order of Police Associated Lodge 41, served as present and past president, and worked for a John Deer dealership for 40 years. He is enjoying retirement with family and his grandchildren.
Kathy Johnson (since 2002)
Thomas Johnson (since 2009)
Born in Norfolk and raised in Norfolk County (now City of Chesapeake), Mr. Johnson graduated from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University in 1960. He worked with Retail Credit Co. in Newport News, VA and Columbia, S.C. for approximately two years. He moved to Suffolk in 1963, and has been a resident since then. He retired from Virginia Department of Transportation in 2000, with over 37 year’s service. Mr. Johnson has worked in various part time jobs since then, including the former Harrell and Hill Funeral Home for more than eight years. He coached on a volunteer basis in the Suffolk Department of Recreation for more than 20 years. He is a past president of the Suffolk Tennis Association and served on the Suffolk Racquet Club’s Board of Directors. He has been a member of Bethlehem Ruritan Club since 1983 and a member of Bethlehem Christian Church for 28 years and currently serves on the Deaconry Board. He has been married to Doris Pierce Johnson since June 1981, and is the father of two sons and stepfather to one daughter.
Bill Powell (since 1995)
Mr. Powell is a 1958 graduate of Suffolk high School. He was a member of the National Guard from 1962 until 1968. In 1960 Bill married Roberta Baker. They have two children and five grandchildren. Bill is a member of the Elks Lodge and a member of Main Street United Methodist Church.

Theresa Provost (since 2009)
Theresa Ashburn Provost is a lifelong resident of Suffolk and a 1973 graduate of Nansemond Suffolk Academy. Affiliated with and employed by the Suffolk Redevelopment and Housing Authority (SRHA) and the City of Suffolk from 1983 to 2005, the Mayor appointed Theresa to serve on the SRHA Board of Commissioners in 2009, where she currently serves as Chairman of the Board. She enjoys gardening, entertaining, and especially spending time with her family and grandchildren.
Douglas Rose (since 2010 )
Mr. Rose retired from International Paper Company after 38 years. He has three daughters and two sons and five grandchildren. He joined scouting in 1958 and has worked with Troop 41 in Windsor, VA since 1982. He is a member of Windsor Christian Church and loves the outdoors and hunting.

Earl Smith (since 2000)
Mr. Smith was born in Gates County, N.C. He is a graduate of Sunbury High School. He is married to Glenda Smith. He is retired from Newport News Shipbuilding. Earl is a member of the Liberty Spring Ruritan Club, Liberty Spring Senior Citizens and Liberty Spring Christian Church. Earl volunteers two days a week at Suffolk Meals on Wheels and delivers meals once a quarter. He is an honorary life member of the Nansemond Suffolk Rescue Squad after actively pulling duty for 33 years. Earl enjoys fishing and being active in church.

Marjorie Wilkinson (since 1992)
Mrs. Wilkinson was raised in Perquimans Co. Hertford, N.C. She moved to Suffolk in 1942 and married Jack Joyner. They had one son before Jack passed away. Marjorie attended LOMH School of Nursing for Practical Nurse and retired after many years of Private Duty nursing, nursing for Lakeview and for Obici Hospital. In 1976 she married Bill Wilkinson. She is a member of Suffolk Christian Church and was past president of the Suffolk Woman’s Club. In her spare time she enjoys the company of her playful pup Mr. Peanut. Marjorie has one grandson and one great grandchild.
Larry Willis (since 2007) Mr. Willis graduated from Perquimans County High School in Hertford, N.C. He has been married to Mary Lee Ward Willis for over 50 years. They have two daughters, Cynthia (Sandy) Craig and Laurie Lee Willman, six grandchildren, and two great granddaughters. Larry retired from the Virginia Department of Forestry, has been scoutmaster of Troop 41 for over 43 years, and is a member of Windsor Congregational Christian Church. Larry's favorite hobby is playing golf.
